Feels like it's been awhile since I introduced myself on here! I'm Heather and I've tried to take myself out of the many boxes I've put myself into for years...intro posts feel like boxes to me 😅But I've got a new chapter blooming, so it's a good time to do it.I've been known as the "bread lady" for over a decade. I'm a sourdough bread expert who teaches and bakes bread in an outdoor wood fired oven.But I'm also a mother to a busy, energetic son, a partner to the love of my life, a farmer and homesteader, a willow grower and weaver and more recently a myofascial release bodyworker!My sun sign is Aquarius, with Virgo rising and I'm also a 3/6 emotional projector in Human Design (oh yeah, I'm also a certified HD reader).I love to be at home and I also love people (but not all the time 😅). I love the water and trees and the amazing land and animals we steward at our farm. I've become really passionate about self healing and trusting ourselves and our bodies in this crazy world where we outsource so much. And I can see how it all connects and weaves together even when it doesn't make sense.I hope for a brighter future in what seems like darker times and I also know that actions speak louder than words so I strive to be of service so that we can build a better place for the next generations to come!Recently that is coming through as becoming a myofascial release bodyworker- using my hands on bodies to heal, because as our relationships with our bodies grow, the more connected we can feel to everything 🌱🌀❤️I think that's enough now! Myofascial release (MFR)! We get diagnoses, we go to the physio, the chiropractor, the doctor, the massage therapist. We do endless exercises and take pills to get through the pain whether it's a headache, a throbbing lower back, tight hips, sciatica, fibromyalgia etc. We treat the pieces and maybe the pain goes away but it keeps coming back eventually.It's because our body is not made of separate pieces. It's made of systems and these systems are all connected by FASCIA. A restriction in one place in our body is affecting another because the threads are being too pulled right from that other spot. Injuries from accidents or trauma years ago can create these adhesions and stay with us, unless we find a way to release them.The gentle, deep and lasting techniques that MFR uses unravel these places in our body and create lasting change. Repeated treatment over a period of time can release and re pattern the body to get you feeling your best! And that is just the beginning. Get ready for some fascia info! I'm sure some of you already know this- fascia is an amazing system in our body. Connective tissue that runs everywhere, connecting literally every single thing in our body. It feels , it holds emotion and trauma, it conducts electricity, it aligns with the meridians from Chinese medicine. No wonder that acupuncture was the very first modality I tried when I was chronically sick that made me feel different.Tending to my fascia has been a game changer for my life- I started because of the pain, but once the energy started flowing as well my life began to evolve in ways I never could have imagined. I'm not one to hop on trends, but this morning was a perfect example of this. I just had a big bake day and delivery this week, woke up with a to do list for the garden/farm in my head and was on a mission to get it done. Shortly after I started I got super frustrated and started feeling bitter with something I was trying to do( drop irrigation is the devil and is now in the hands of my man who handles such things with way more grace than me).The feeling of being behind in the garden is endless, nothing new here, but the late spring has to put the pressure on! So instead of continuing, I made a decaf coffee, took my shoes off and sat. Told myself it was only 9:30am and that it's ok to take a rest already 😅.Old me, always pushes through. Never takes breaks when I needed them. Now, I slow down, take a breather, appreciate this beautiful place I live in and then get back to it when I'm ready.#ialmostforgotwhatthepointis #projectorenergy #definedwillcenter #ottawavalley

I have been working on some powerful reframes in my life lately.This one about the patchwork came up naturally and with ease because it wasn't directly about me.But it applies to everyone. We are all unique, patched together with life experiences that create who we are.Some experiences are painful and others are filled with joy. And they all live in us and express themselves in different ways throughout our lifetime.I know it isn't always easy, but you get to decide how these experiences affect you on a daily basis. I was chatting with a friend this past weekend about pain and chronic health challenges and the attachment we develop to them. The identity we create around the pain that won't go away. The fear that if it's gone after so long that we won't know who we are anymore. It sounds so weird, yet it is completely true. It happens with health diagnoses as well. Our ego attaches to these things and the patterns are engrained into our body (fascia) and nervous system and it's very difficult to get out.I've literally spent the last two+ years navigating various chronic pain symptoms. I've associated them with my work, with the fact that the birth of my son didn't go as planned and recently really noticed how I hold onto pain when there is a recurring stress in my life (which could literally be anything -this winter being my old dog whose health was declining while also having issues with our young pup). The awareness I've developed around this was the first step into moving into the pain and staying with it. Staying in my body. Staying quiet and still and not moving to avoid the discomfort. Awareness led me to stillness. Could I hold myself for five minutes? Leaning into what I wanted to run from? At first I would fidget and move and fidget some more. It took time and a determination to get through the resistance.Now I can see this from a different perspective and I'm learning to use this stillness to help others with myofascial alchemy. Fascial release takes time and presence. There is no rushing. It is slow. It is deep. It requires patience. And eventually it releases what no longer serves us in the physical and energetic bodies.Can you stay and sit with yourself?
